Animal sacrifice is the ritual killing of an animal as part of a religion. It is practiced by many religions as a means of appeasing a God or Gods or changing the course of nature. Animal sacrifice has turned up in almost all cultures, from the Hebrews to the Greeks and Romans and from the Aztecs to the Hindus.
This is an ethical issue, an issue of cruelty, an impassioned cry at sacrifice of animals in the name of religion, or faith, be it Hindus sacrificing goats, buffalo and chicken in Home or Temple, or Muslims slaughtering a goat or cow on the occasion of Bakrid, or Americans killing millions of Turkey on Thanksgiving day.
